Problem

This issue is usually caused by either:

  1. A large number of Bring up/Outlook tasks trying to sync to each other; or
  2. One or more corrupted/duplicated outlook tasks trying to sync to a LawMaster Bring Up

Solution

NOTE: BEFORE PROCEEDING, PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL MICROSOFT OFFICE UPDATES HAVE BEEN DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED ON ANY AFFECTED COMPUTERS

To try resolve this issue a user with access to the Parameter and Security Menus will need to perform the following (if you do not see these menus see your System Administrator):

  1. Increase the time between tasks in Outlook and LawMaster Bring Ups syncing:
    1. Go to Parameters > Set Parameters > Miscellaneous > Outlook Integration
    2. Increase the Bring-ups synchronisation Timer (minutes) to: 5 minutes
    3. Click OK
NOTE: You will need to close and reopen LawMaster and Outlook to see the change take effect

  2. Go through your tasks in outlook and mark complete or delete for those that are duplicated/expired

  3. Then go to LawMaster > bring-ups and marks as actioned all brings that have been done or expired.

  4. If the above doesn't resolve the issue then the cause will be related to a bad Task/Bring-up in Microsoft Outlook, when LawMaster tries to sync them with the Bring-ups in LawMaster.  In this case check the tasks you have access to. (To-Do-List and Tasks and any sub folders in Outlook.) Look for any unusual ones, and delete them.
If you can't locate any unusual ones, confirm that they all exist in LawMaster as Bring-ups. Then Delete those from Outlook that don't exist as Bring ups in LawMaster.

  5. If the above doesn't work then Turn off the task and bring up synchronisation at a user or firm level if tasks are not used in Outlook:
    1. To turn off at a Firm Level:
      1. Go to Parameters > Set Parameters > Miscellaneous > Outlook Integration
      2. Untick Tasks / Bring-ups
      3. Click OK
NOTE: You will need to close and reopen LawMaster and Outlook to see the change take effect
    2. To turn off for only the user in question:
      1. Go to Security > Maintain User Security
      2. Select the user in question
      3. Click the Modify user link
      4. Set the Outlook Tasks Synchronisation to: Disabled
      5. Click OK
NOTE: You will need to close and reopen LawMaster and Outlook to see the change take effect
